The life of an Internet Marketer….sigh
I’ve been asked a question more than once. Each time, I think I give a similiar answer, but now I have to wonder.
The question I think many people want to know is, “What do you do daily as an Internet Marketer”?
Hmmm, the choices of a response are so many. Why? Because daily it is something different, but the same.
Ha, I laugh.
What do I do…well;
Place Ads,
Read Emails,
Respond Emails,
Study new techniques,
Post on Blogs,
Write an Article or Press Release,
Make a new vid,
Tweak the capture page,
Check stats,
Study another marketers techniques,
Set goals,
Set up email accounts for marketing,
Review the automation I’ve set up - is it working,
Eat / take 20 to relax,
read forums/ post,
chat with fellow marketings/network,
Check myspace / send comments,
Check youtube / send comments,
Check Friendster / Send comments,
Check autoresponders / update,
and the list would/could go on and on. The point is, daily, it is something new. The steps I take can depend on what actions are occurring and have occurred. If I learn something new in a training course - I then go an apply it. This may mean I do nothing else but learn and apply that new step/technique. That will then put me a day behind on the normal “duties” and I end
up running the next two days to keep up - but it is never the same boring thing done daily. Well, placing ads can be, but even that is minimal with the great Copy/Paste feature we all use.
So, what do I do daily - I work. I do something. That is what it takes to get things done and to be seen and heard on the net. If you place two ads and think you are going to get the millions coming to you - Well Think Again. The point of all this
is if you at least do something daily, then you are making progress and making changes, which will result in some change in your life.
Try to think of it this way. If you want to make true friends, do you go into a room, turn on the tv and shut the blinds, turn off the phone and veg out? NO - you have to get out of the house, go to stores, churches, bars and other social places (not particularily in that order, ha) and meet people. Marketing is the same concept. You have to be active - you have to attend forums, functions and trainings. You have to communicate (phone, email, instant messengers, articles). You have to be out there doing something - even if only one thing a day - you have to be doing IT.
That’s what I do, what do you do?
